Hasn't he grown into a stunningly handsome young man? What an absolute sweetheart - how I wish I could physically hug him :-)I confess to being just a little nervous when I hadn't heard from the lady for a while, hoping that it wasn't because the little one had died so I was really pleased to get her email and see the photo she sent.
She said that she'd taken him to the Zoo Zoom to live because she couldn't look after him herself and putting him back into the wild wasn't an option as he was a friendly, dependent little thing. She'd done a lot of research of wildlife sanctuaries around Louisiana and picked Zoo Zoom because they would make him into a little mink ambassador and when they showed him to all the kids, they would also teach the kids about minks. Sounds like a good idea to me!
Poor lady said she cried all the way back home after she dropped him off, because she'd become so attached to him. I'm not surprised, having raised him since he was a tiny tot -- it must have been so emotional to have to give him to someone else but I'm sure she made the right choice.
So, if any of my readers happen to live in Louisiana and get to see Zoo Zoom, please keep your eye out for the little mink and if you do get to hold him, please give him a hug from me :-)

Sabastian is GREAT! We are Zoo-Zoom; and am happy to say that this lil mink is amazing, to say the least! His lil instincts are kicking in, and it's really interesting to watch. He loves crawfish, boiled chicken wings, & warm milk in the morning. He has doubled in size and has adapted to life witrh Zoo-Zoom quiet well. Pictures are available at your request. Great article, thanks!
Sabastian is GREAT! We are Zoo-Zoom, and am happy to announce that he has adapted to life with Zoo-Zoom very well, and has made lots of friends. He loves boiled chicken wings, crawfish and warm milk in the morning. He's spoiled rotten, and loving it! He has seen 100's of people in his lil life already and has caused everyone of them to smile and ask lots of questions. I can send pics at your request, and please visit our website often to see what we're up to.
Hi Brett & Lori
Thank you so much for letting me know about Sabastian (what a great name!) -- I really appreciate it, even though I had nothing really to do with him apart from my correspondence with Lorie. She did all the hard work keeping him alive when he was tiny :-)
I will definitely be requesting pictures and hope you'll be able to fill me in on everything about minks, because the only things I know about them is what I learn on the internet.
Please give him a hug from his fans down under ;-)
Sorry for the double posts :-/
Lorie had told us about your blog; so we thought, we'd do the right thing and keep ya'll posted. She did a great job with this lil mink; he is in terrific shape! It's amazing how his lil instincts are coming to surface, too. He did 'stink' us, when we introduced him to the shower; but he loved it! He really gives crawfish(yabbies) a hard time, too (lil buggers don't have a chance). And he's 'savage' with a piece of chicken, as well! All hugs and kisses have been issued :-)
